Wedding Planning – The Basics

Making Decisions.

I realized shortly after we got engaged that we now had to plan a wedding. And we knew it was going to be a challenging task, planning a wedding is no easy feat.

What I didn’t expect was to be so conflicted. We’ve changed our minds a million and one times.

When and where to have the ceremony.

Do we have the ceremony and reception in the same place?

We could have a big wedding and invite 150+ people, or maybe it should be super small and only have immediate family.

There are so many options!

Needless to say, Sean and I are very easy going people that aren’t too picky, so making these decisions has proven to be difficult!

Finalizing The Basics.

We’re just finishing up the tail end of the basics – date, location, and lodging.

It’s been a long road getting to this point and for a while I thought we were going to have to push back our timeline.

Part of the initial struggle was that we wanted to get married within a year and because Sean proposed at the end of October, we needed to get on the planning train ASAP. What we kept running into was that many of our favorite locations were already booked up or weren’t in the timeframe we wanted.

We came to a realization about mid-December and quickly found a spot that we knew we’d love.

With a date, location, and lodging finalized we’re both so excited and cannot wait to celebrate!

Next Steps.

Now that we’ve got a solid foundation to work on, we get to start planning what I consider the more fun things – my wedding dress, our registry, and decor!
